DR. RORY C. REID, Ph.D., LCSW, received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah and his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Brigham Young University. Dr. Reid is the Clinical Director at the Provo Counseling Center and a licensed therapist who over the years has conducted indivdiual, group, and couples therapy with hundreds of patients seeking help for issues related to mental health problems. Dr. Reid has expertise in treatment for hypersexual behavior, pornography dependence, pathological gambling, adult ADHD, depression, anxiety, and marital distress. He has received specialized training in Emotion Focused Therapy, marriage and family therapy, neuropsychological assessment, and neurofeedback. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Reid is an academic researcher and currently
works Monday through Thursdays as a Research Psychologist at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has published articles on hypersexual behavior and pathological gambling in several notable journals such as Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Sex and Marital Therapy, Journal of Addiction Medicine, Couple and Relationship Therapy, and the International Journal of Neuroscience. He is an author or co-author on several books and book chapters on topics related to his specialties including his most recent work, “Confronting Your Spouse’s Pornography Problem.” He has current affiliations or memberships with the American Psychological Association, the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health, the International Neuropsychological Society, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Society for Psychotherapy Research.
